Welcome to the mountain bike club.
We organise rides for students at Sussex University, we cycle around the area local to the Uni and arrange trips to places further afield. We regularly ride cross country but also go downhill, dirt jumping, and street riding. Have a look around the site for more information.

23.03.09 - BUSC(BUSA) Races

19.10.08 - Devils Dyke
This weekends XC ride took us to the top of the Dyke.
18.10.08 - Wild Park
Photos from the freeride day in Wild Park will be up in the gallery soon, mebbe a movie too. If your interested in riding jumps and drops let us know so we can organise more rides like this.
11.10.08 - Esher Shore
On a whim I went up to Esher to ride the shore park they have up there. Its easy to get to via train and is well worth the trip for some fun riding. Go to www.eshershore.com if you wanna find out more and of course let us know if your interested in riding there.
05.10.08 - It begins...
Despite the vast amounts of rain we received on the first ride, it was a good one. Few people turned up but many thanks to those that did.
Will is arranging another on wednesday afternoon at 2pm, meeting at Falmer Bar benches again, hopefully the weather will be better.

01.10.08 - Freshers Fair '08
Cheers to everyone who signed up at the fair, hope to see you out riding soon. The first ride will be on sunday the 5th of October, 11am at outside Falmer bar, join us for a bit of cross country around campus.
25.09.08 - Happy New (school) Year
A few photos from a summer alps trip that some of us went on are up in the gallery. Chris has finished his compilation DVD of some of the riding we did last year, which we will hopefully get playing at the freshers fair. The fair is on the 1st of October, come along and support if you can.
06.05.08 - Sports Ball
The sports ball was awesome, we are definately going back next year. It was a marquee full of drunken sports teams, what could be better?
We met some cool ladies and gents from the trampoline team and the kickboxing crew, there are a few photos from the night in the gallery.
05.05.08 - End of year Race Day
The end of the year is close, and everyone is getting busier with work and revision. Initially we had a lot of people interested to enter the Scrapheap Bike Challenge we had planned but it seems everyone is working too hard to assemble a peice of crap to race.
Instead we will be meeting in Wild Park at the end of term and having a day of riding, with some competitions, drinks and a barbecue.
It will be a great way to enjoy the end of the year and say goodbye to everyone going home for the summer, so come along.

04.05.08 - Street Ride
Phil proposed an excellent idea for a streetride. When exams are all over and its light for longer in the evenings, we get the last train up to London and have the streets to ourselves overnight, then get the first train back in the morning. We can ride almost anything we want to and not be kicked off properties and not have people in our way. If you wanna come along let us know.
03.03.08 - Downs Link Challenge
The Downs Link Challenge is a local event you may be interested in to raise money for the The Chestnut Tree Appeal. It is the children's hospice for Sussex. They have had to 'mothball' beds because of lack of money. Its on Saturday morning, 17th May 2008.
Its a chance to bike over the stunning scenery of Downs Link covering various distances up to 30 Miles. Its a fun event, ideal for families, with a walk of 5 and half miles also included. It starts at Bramber castle, see www.downslinkchallenge.co.uk for entry form and more details.
All proceeds to Chestnut Tree Hospice, organised by Sue Bushby.
02.03.08 - Rough Ride
We got an email from the Rough Ride team for
those who are interested.
The
Marin Rough Ride 2008 is on Sunday June 8th this year.
This popular event is
a great ride across the open hills of the Welsh borders and attracts just
under a 1,000 riders from all over the country. Riders return year after
year to pit themselves against the demanding route
which varies each year, but never uses forestry. The route is across moorland
tracks opened just for this one event by express permission of the various
landowners. It has the smallest proportion of road for any single loop
off road event
in England and Wales. The atmosphere is kept delightfully laid back and welcoming,
the marshalls are really friendly and helpful.
The campsite, on the edge
Hergest Ridge, above the tiny market town of
Kington on the welsh border, has wonderful views of the surrounding hills.
The event costs £27
for advance entry, which includes all camping and event tee shirt. Visit

this, the sixth year, Marin have returned as main sponsors, they are providing
spot prizes and a test fleet which will be available from Saturday lunchtime
onwards.

.25.10.07 - Clothing
We've had several emails from people wanting clothing, we are looking into
the options of getting different colour shirts and prints, and getting hoodies
printed too. We should be finding out the options and costs soon, hang in
there.
13.10.07 - Ride to Tilgate
We headed up to Tilgate Forest, near Crawley,
to hit some downhill and dirt jumps. We took the scenic route to the trails,
and the riding was awesome, though we hope Mashy is all good.
